Appreciation 101

I can only speak for myself as pet sitter/dog walker, but it's all about the animals. I very rarely ever see/meet their actual owners - just the occasional text or note to tell them how the visit went. Other clients constantly call me for advice or give extra tips because they know when I'm there, their pet is always my priority. It pays to go the extra mile, especially with dogs (the main reason I get all the harder-to-handle/abused/slightly aggressive/just petrified doggie clients at the company I work for).

Yesterday a client texted me out of the blue and gave me the best compliment that I have ever recieved.

"Can I just tell you how much of a peace of mind you give me. Like running out of the house in the morning if I didn't do something I know you'll fix it."

I was blown away, humbled, happy and just really proud of myself. I always strive to do my best, compliments or not, but when someone actually reaches out, takes the time to appreciate you...there is no better feeling in the world!
